The next March 8, the International Women’s Day in which all the
women in the world feel united in the struggle against capitalism,
imperialism, states and governments imposing on women a double and
ferocious oppression, against patriarchy and modern Middle Ages,
consisting of discrimination, denial of rights, rapes and sexual
violence, repression on all women who rebel; but above all they feel
united in the revolutionary fight to win a world where women are half of
the sky and the fundamental force to transform the earth and the sky,
and in this they draw strength from all women who are fighting in the
forefront in the people’s wars, we want to dedicate this Day to all the
women who in many parts of the world – Kurdistan, Turkey, Palestine,
Afghanistan, Peru, Philippines, etc. – are fighting and being murdered
because they are very dangerous for the bourgeoisie and its oppressors
States. Particularly, to the comrade Shruthi Amar of the Communist Party
of India (Maoist), barbarously tortured and murdered by the Indian
state, the fascist Modi’s government, called by all western countries,
including the Italian Renzi’s government, the “largest democracy in the
world.”
The fierce torture on this comrade and her death show actually the fear of a State in which every day hundreds of women, girls are raped and killed, but also where the revolutionary struggle for the emancipation of women and the liberation from double, triple chains of oppression is more advanced and stronger.
That is why the great struggle of the Indian comrades and women is not only a struggle “for themselves” but an overall struggle that appeals to settle the accounts with the kind of society we want to build, giving inspiration and lessons to all women who want to rebel.
More and more, India is becoming a symbol of the violence of the imperialist and capitalist system, particularly on women, and today, with of the fascist and pro-imperialist Modi’s government, this process is quickly advancing. In India the old feudal traditions, the family tribalism, religious fundamentalism in vast areas of India out of the biggest cities today are accompanied by a new bullying, the gang-violence in the big cities where imperialism adds new aberrations to the old ones. More and more, gang-rapes are committed directly by the forces of the Indian State as a weapon of repression, especially in rural areas where the people’s war goes on and the atrocious gang-rapes of peasant, villager, Dalit women by the police and military and paramilitary forces, became a routine; Gang-rapes are repeated in the region in conflict, as seen in these days, and they the attempt to silence women who raise their voice against injustice and rapes; rapes that hatefully always accompany torture against Maoist women in custody.
But, recently, the violence, killings of women in several states of India are opposed by huge mass protests, with an overwhelming participation of women and youth.
Many women and comrades transformed the violence they suffered, the brutal conditions of their life, the State repression into an impetuous factor of rebellion, joining the people’s war, where they are now the majority of fighters.
The state fears the large participation of women in the people’s war and try to counter them with any violent means. The nature of class and gender oppression on women is long lasting. But because of this the protracted people’s war attracts the participation of many oppressed women and this actually makes the people’s war a mass war.
This makes this people’s war an international phenomenon of the liberation struggle of women. Women are fighting on two fronts, the class struggle and gender struggle, and this is a living example of how women need to carry forward a revolution in the revolution to assert their path and bring their general view, to transform material living conditions but also ideas.
HONOUR TO COMRADE SHURUTHI !
